Abstract

The issue on gender stereotyping has been marred by contradictions as evident by a plethora of gender-related abuses against women.  The study aims to investigate the gender-related incidents in school and the factors that lead to these abuses, and finally propose a plan of action that would lessen these abuses if totally eradicating them. A triangulation method was adopted to ensure that biases and prejudices are mitigated. Results of the study revealed that despite the existing laws, statutes, and policies, gender stereotyping is still rampant even in the academe. A policy that focuses on gender non-conforming titles and pronouns was adopted to address the issue. It is recommended that the policy be strictly implemented to aid the academe solve the issue related to gender stereotyping.
